The first introduction of Seneca's play in Czech, in a new translation of Eva Stehlikova. A Roman tragedy from the times of Nero is based on the Greek mythical story about Faidra, the wife of the hero Theseus, who falls in love with her own step-son Hippolyte. This forbidden and unrequited love inevitably brings disaster upon all the involved. It is being performed in an "intimate" space, with viewers sitting on the stage.

From dark corners of the Paris Opera a voice resounds that calls the name of the very young ballet dancer Christina Daaé and encourages this extraordinary talent. Hardly anybody knows that the mysterious voice is the voice of the Phantom, a disfigured genius roaming around the labyrinth of catacombs... The ballet ensemble comes with another delicacy, a romantic story on the theme of the novel Le Fantôme de l’Opéra by Gaston Leroux. The head of our production team is Libor Vaculík who set this exciting theme also known from a musical comedy version by Andrew Lloyd Webber into a specific ballet environment. The dance/acting roles of Raoul, Christine, the Phantom and a number of other heroes will challenge again the soloists and the entire ensemble. This attractive material set into music by Petr Malásek and choreographed by Libor Vaculík has everything necessary to reach both Czech and foreign audiences and to take its place alongside successful works from past years like The Lady of the Camellias and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The British songster Fink is headed to Prague for the first time!
Fin Greenall, who has been creating for more then 10 years under the nom de plume of Fink, will be releasing his fifth regular album, Perfect Darkness, through the legendary Ninja Tune label. He will introduce it at an exclusive concert at the Prague MeetFactory on the Struggle for freedom and democracy day, 17 November. SRO and seat tickets are already in sale.
You might be asking - folk by Ninja Tune? But not just any folk! The musical genius Greenall has matured - from triphop beginnings through downtempo moods, he was gradually reborn as a first-class songster. Two years after the highly appreciated Sort of Revolution, he is releasing his fifth album Perfect Darkness next week. It shows his (more implied then admitted) electronic history as well as his sideways experience with the oaky Sideshow, resulting in a "perfectly dark" mixture of blues, folk and oak. After a short summer tour, he's coming back in the fall in full strength with a supporting band - their Prague concert premiere awaits you on the "festive" 17 November at the MeetFactory.
The concert audience will be partially seated and the capacity is therefore limited.
